In 1937, a small group of passionate and concerned teachers established the Orange County Teachers’ Federal Credit Union. At that time, the credit union offered basic savings accounts and small loans.
After years of serving the school employees of Orange County, the credit union expanded to serve school employees throughout all of Central Florida, and thus changed its name to Central Florida Educators’ Federal Credit Union.
In 2006, we obtained a community charter which allows us to offer our services to all who live, work, worship or attend school in Orange, Osceola, Lake or Seminole counties as well as businesses and legal entities. We recently shortened our name to CFE Federal Credit Union to better reflect that we are available to help more Central Floridians achieve their financial goals.
Although our reach has changed, our focus on service excellence and competitive products and services remains the same. We offer a full range of products and services designed to meet the needs of our diverse members, all at highly competitive rates. CFE Federal Credit Union provides members with financial solutions to fit their very distinct needs. More than just a financial institution, for 70 years CFE Federal Credit Union has been a proud and trusted friend to our members. We are there for our members and the communities we serve, through thick and thin.
CFE is now the 7th largest financial institution in Central Florida with 15 branches and plans for further expansion in the near future. Although we are more than 117,000 members strong, the real number we focus on is “one” — one single member at a time. While there’s power in numbers, there is greater power in genuine concern for the individual member’s interests.
At CFE Federal Credit Union, our promise is to always be there with each step along the individual financial paths of our members. Our genuine commitment, steadfast protection and unending support can only come from the most trusted of friends. |
